As a Meeting & Events Sidekick, you will be the go-to person, mediator and problem solver for all meeting & events hosted at Zoku Amsterdam.


You'll be responsible for executing and hosting unforgettable events, while getting hands-on experience of the daily operations of the M&E team. You'll report to the Meeting & Events Manager to handle and execute all flawless events, and deliver a great experience to our Meeting & Events clients. Plus, you'll get to show off your inner barista and beer tapping skills as the host for all meeting & events guests.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?

No day looks the same as a Meeting & Events Sidekick… but here’s a glimpse of what you can expect:

  • Prepare event space and meeting rooms according to event specifications and floor plans. 

  • Ensure all equipment and materials (e.g., buffets, bars, AV setups) are clean and properly arranged. 

  • Check for overall cleanliness and presentation of the event space. 

  • Assist with signage, place cards, and any special setup requirements. 

  • Greet guests with a professional and welcoming demeanor. 

  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and courteous manner (plated, buffet, or passed service). 

  • Refill water, beverages, and clear used plates during the event. 

  • Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests or issues. 

  • Follow all safety and hygiene standards during food and drink service. 

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and event coordinators to ensure smooth service flow. 

  • Assist with bar or restaurant if needed. 

WHEN YOU'LL BE ON 

You’ll work independently across different departments, with a mix of morning and afternoon/evening shifts. Since business needs can change, being flexible is a must! 

 

  • Morning Shift (AM Shift): 07:00 to 15:30 

  • Afternoon/Evening Shifts (PM Shift): 11:00 to 19:30 / 15:00 to 23:30

Job requirements

WE LOVE PEOPLE WHO

  • Don’t mind getting their hands dirty with a can-do attitude. 

  • Have operational experience and / or previously worked in event management and banqueting.  

  • You’re a team player – always ready to assist your colleagues in the bar and restaurant whenever they need help. 


A FEW MUST HAVES 
 

  • You have a min. of 1 year experience in a similar role or hospitality. 

  • You are fluent in English, Dutch and/or other languages. 

  • You are an EU resident or have a valid working and living permit for the Netherlands. 

  • You are able to work up to 40 hours (full-time).

  • You are flexible - no fixed working days / hours.
