As our General Manager you are responsible for the smooth and efficient running of Zoku’s operations, which is build first and foremost on human interactions and focused on guests and employee engagement.


You will drive and enhance Zoku’s unique value proposition, implementing and improving smart and lean processes. You will lead by example, proactively coach the local support and operational team, while ensuring consistency. The General Manager reports to the Operations Director based in the Support Office in Amsterdam.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?
No day looks the same as a General Manager… but here’s a glimpse of what you can expect:


Operational coach: 
You manage and coach the operational team by creating an environment where people can thrive and develop themselves, encouraging maximum performance. You communicate effectively and frequently with other departments to ensure efficiency of operations, and high standards are met. You are a Zoku ambassador, both internally and externally, by living and breathing the company values and supporting our thriving community


Commercial & financial responsibilities:
 You own your P&L, by preparing and controlling it, to ensure the set budget is achieved (or even better exceeded!). Your commercial mindset together with your finesse to control costs drives the financial results to the max.


Linking pin:
 
You act as the linking pin by coordinating all outsourced services, such as housekeeping and stewarding. Additionally, you ensure all contracts and supplies (purchasing) are organized and agreements with our partners and suppliers are negotiated and managed properly.


Operational excellence:
 
You ensure proper SOP implementation and efficient usage of our operational systems. Additionally, you are responsible for continuous fine-tuning across all operations to achieve excellence and foster a motivated operational team.

Job requirements


WE LOVE PEOPLE WHO

  • Have knowledge of the (intern)national hotel and/or short stay industry
  • Are result driven and flexible.
  • Have a hands-on mentality, and not afraid of getting their hands dirty.
  • Can juggle many tasks at the same time while remaining cool headed and warm hearted.
  • Have experience in leading and coaching a team.
  • Have a good sense of humor.
  • Have good understanding of hotel financial statements.
  • Are comfortable and well versed in revenue management and hotel sales.
  • Like to work on OKR’s and want their team(s) to shine.
  • Like finding a correlation between data and hands-on results.

A FEW MUST HAVES

  • You have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or a similar qualification in the hospitality industry.

  • You have at least 3 years of experience at middle management level in the international hotel industry, ideally already as (Assistant) GM, Operations Manager or Room Division Manager.

  • You are fluent in English and French. Additional languages are always a plus.

  • You are an EU citizen or have a valid work visa for France.
